About Fabio LaBrada

Fabio LaBrada is the founder of Raquel’s Wings for Life, a Texas-based nonprofit that has flow thousands of cancer patients to treatment centers like MD Anderson in Houston, all free of charge since 2005. Born in Cuba, Fabio immigrated to the United States as a young man to care for his mother during nearly three decades of cancer treatment in Boston. At his mother’s insistence, Fabio moved to Miami to turn his passion for flying into a career as a commercial pilot. After the death of his mother, Fabio founded Raquel’s Wings for Life in her honor. In 2017, Fabio became a cancer patient himself, an experience that changed his
perspective and deepened his connection with the people he serves. He lives in Decatur with his wife, Kerri, and their daughter, Hunter.
